“A whole new kind of experience for the aspiring writers, the creatives and the Wanderlusters.”
Have you ever tried mixing a healthy dose of study, creativity, experience, travel and fun – all at once? And what would that look like? Well, it kind of looks like one of our awesome creative projects.
Allow us to introduce you to our affordable Wanderlust City Review projects running in Europe during Summer, where our mission is to provide unforgettable experiences that allow our participants opportunities to learn and grow their creative skills, whilst immersing themselves in a truly amazing city.
Research projects are often part of gap periods, such periods used to be seen as a way to ‘put off adulthood’ but nowadays (thankfully) they are seen as invaluable learning and life experiences to be had. Something you will never forget, and something that you must do! There are all kinds of gap-experiences available to young people these days, but we are pleased to say there is nothing ‘out there’ like what we have to offer. We are about mixing travel and many creative fields.
Get away from cliches and learn everything about the city, the culture, the traditions, the values and the customs. Understand a city from a local perspective and unearth some hidden gems by joining us for the ride.
Something that makes us truly unique is the number of participants we accept for our projects. Our team decided that it was more important to have smaller groups, than big groups with a big profit margin. To us, great gap experiences should be about the quality and not the quantity. The people we want to join us are not just numbers (they are so much more than that!) and we want to give them an incredible experience by dedicating our full attention, support and guidance.
'IN A NUTSHELL':
Over the course of 4.5 weeks (or 32 days) our project members will work together to create an amazing piece of travel writing to publish and learn a bunch of new skills along the way. Each of our projects follow a similar structure and included in the project schedule is time dedicated for: mentoring, writing/editing sessions, design/layout sessions, foundation travel photography workshops, culture, language workshops, specialty workshops such as ‘creating a great digital portfolio’, 'the building blocks of blogs' and more. These sessions are also complimented by weekly team meetings, excursions, project related activities and social team nights. Our team are right there to help guide and mentor participants with their experience and help them to grow and extend knowledge & skills such as writing, creativity, team building, guide creation, use of software, culture & language, history, reviewing, critical analysis, networking, photography, self-reliance, designing and so much more. For a full list of our Aims and Objectives check out OUR MISSION.
We would like to thank SpaceBase for the use of their images, we do not claim to own the images and have sought permission to use them for this website.
In each city we use clean and crisp working spaces that induce creativity and are located in, or close to: the city centres. This makes the spaces ideal for participants to venture to attractions before, during and after their scheduled sessions. We are also pleased to offer a 'stay your way' option for project members. As travelers we tend to know people from 'all over': maybe you want to stay with a friend? Or perhaps you're a hotel person, or an Airbnb person, an apartment person or maybe you're a hostel person. Some projects we have been able to snap up some incredible deals from accommodation providers and the information regarding these are outlined in our Information Packs. Another added benefit for our project members is that they are equipped with ‘Travel Writer/Reviewer’ cards allowing them free or discounted entries to many attractions in the city plus a few more perks!
As aforementioned, the final result of all the researching, writing, designing and photography is putting together a great piece of travel writing. This will piece will be published shortly after the project reaches a close, all members will own full copyright to their own works and receive an online copy to keep.
Our spots are as said earlier - unfortunately limited to one exclusive team per city in 2019. We are taking people from all different walks of life – whether they are undergraduates, postgraduates, younger ages or slightly older ages, of vast experiences, backgrounds and studies. We are looking for people who are fun-loving, adaptable, enthusiastic, those who have great senses of humor, those who love a challenge, love to travel, the experience-junkies, the seriously-passionate people, the culture lovers and team players! If that is you, then we want to hear from you!
Successful participants of our projects receive a special gift from us, written references, a certificate of project completion and certificates for participating in the specialty workshops. It must be said though, the best thing you walk away with, is a deep understanding of a city, and its culture, a special group of friends, many ‘bucket-list’ moment and a backpack full of memories.
